Recent years have witnessed growing research and development of algebraic effect systems, intended to address limitations in existing Transformers/MTL approaches. We're observing interest in base providing such functionality natively. Participants desiring improved interoperability also expressed preference for modifying functions operating in IO monad to utilize MonadIO instead.
